Our goal is to produce products using responsibly sourced ingredients while conserving natural resources.
Mustard and cucumbers are ideal in this regard, as we source a significant share of their main ingredients from regional harvests and process the fresh raw materials directly on site. The short transport routes help reduce environmental impact even further – and allow us to skip intermediate steps such as storage and refrigeration.
Develey relies on regional contract farming: short transport routes, fresh products, and lower CO₂ emissions. The cucumbers used in the pickled vegetables of our Specht brand come from Lower Bavaria, while the mustard seeds for our market-leading brand Bautz’ner are sourced from the region surrounding the production site.
We also cultivate our own mustard seeds in Austria and France – many of our contract farmers have been working with us for decades.
We aim to make a meaningful contribution to society – beyond our business activities. That’s why we support youth and children's sports at our locations, such as the volleyball division of TSV Unterhaching.
A true passion project: the annual Run4Trees charity run in Unterhaching, initiated by Develey in 2009. Each year, we’re thrilled to see more participants join in – raising awareness for nature simply by moving outdoors. All proceeds are split equally between a tree-planting organization and the local sports club TSV Unterhaching.
