Putting people first

Develey stands for a values-driven corporate culture and actively promotes diversity – as a signatory of the “Diversity Charter” and through initiatives such as Diversity Day. Through workshops and events, we foster a culture of mutual respect – both within our company and in the communities where we operate. Children and young people are especially close to our hearts:
We support targeted initiatives that offer them opportunities – whether in sports, the arts, social engagement, or during difficult life situations.

How We Make a Difference

Ronald McDonald House Charities

When a child is seriously ill, being separated from the familiar comforts of home is especially difficult. The Ronald McDonald House Charities provide families with a temporary home close to specialized hospitals – a place of refuge during challenging times. Employees of Develey Senf & Feinkost GmbH have been supporting this important cause for many years – with heart, dedication, and hands-on volunteer work.

Run4Trees

This annual charity event, held every July, isn’t just about staying active – it also supports a good cause. As the main sponsor, Develey donates 100% of the proceeds from participation fees, split equally between the local sports club TSV Unterhaching and the children’s and youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet.

Our Bees in Dingolfing

At our Dingolfing site, Develey entered into a beekeeping partnership and has been home to four bee colonies since May 2023. The honey is sold exclusively to employees, with all proceeds donated in the form of goods to a local children’s charity project. In addition, project days are organized in collaboration with a local kindergarten, offering hands-on environmental education for young children.

Childcare on Day of Prayer and Repentance

In Bavaria, the Day of Prayer and Repentance is a school holiday – but not a day off for working parents. This often presents a logistical challenge. Develey supports working mothers and fathers with a special solution: lovingly organized on-site childcare, including an exciting activity program. This way, parents can focus on their work while their children are well cared for and thoroughly entertained.

Develey Social Days

Several times a year, our employees volunteer for good causes as part of the “Develey Social Days” – with heart, dedication, and team spirit. Whether it’s a clean-up campaign around the site or hosting a breakfast for senior citizens, our people get involved where it matters.

Supporting Youth Sports

Develey has been supporting regional youth teams for many years. Whether it’s the youth volleyball team of TSV Unterhaching or the young football players of FC Teisbach near Dingolfing – we are a reliable partner in promoting the athletic development of children and teenagers, helping them grow up healthy and as part of a strong community.

Responsibility as an Employer: Occupational Safety & Health

In addition to routine workplace measures such as occupational health inspections and preventive medical check-ups, we also promote personal fitness. At our Unterhaching site, employees benefit from a corporate gym partnership and the option to lease a company bike. Participation is entirely flexible and tailored to individual needs. At several locations, our in-house canteens offer a varied and balanced selection of meals – including options for a vegan diet.

Tradition with a Future: To the Oktoberfest by Carriage

Our connection to Bavarian traditions is deeply rooted – almost part of our DNA. After all, the spark that ignited Develey’s success story came in 1854, when Johann Conrad Develey invented sweet mustard. To this day, it’s an essential part of the Munich Oktoberfest – and so is our own tradition of joining the festive parade to the Theresienwiese by horse-drawn carriage under the Develey banner.

Grow and Advance Together

Whether you're just starting out or already a senior professional, Develey supports personal and professional growth at all levels: through onboarding programs, workshops, coaching, and the Develey Academy.

Sustainability is part of our everyday work culture – for example, during our Sustainability Action Week, where creative ideas from employees emerge, such as using leftover pickle brine for winter road treatment. On-site sustainability ambassadors also help drive environmental and social awareness throughout the company.

Achieving More Together: Sharing and Passing On Knowledge

Collaboration with universities and industry associations brings valuable insights and fresh perspectives – helping us and our partners grow. Through dialogue with young talent, research institutions, and networks, we gain new ideas, creative solutions, and inspiration for more sustainable business practices.

One example of this is our partnership with the Center for Sustainable Corporate Leadership and the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
