Wherever possible, we source our raw materials regionally, including cucumbers and mustard seeds. The close proximity between cultivation and processing allows the raw materials to be processed directly.
The cucumbers used for our Specht pickled vegetable products come from Lower Bavaria, while up to 40% of the mustard seeds used for Bautz’ner, the market leader in the mustard segment, come from the region surrounding the production site and from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Long-standing partnerships with our contract farmers are important to us. Some of these partnerships now span three generations.
We aim to make a meaningful contribution to society and specifically support children’s and youth sports as well as social initiatives in the communities around our sites. In Unterhaching, we support TSV Unterhaching and its volleyball division. In Dingolfing, we support youth football and volleyball as well as the Technikhaus für Kinder. At our Bautzen site, we support the youth divisions of FSV Budissa Bautzen and SV 1866 Radibor, as well as the diversity project run by Steinhaus e.V.
Beyond our local communities, we also support Plant-for-the-Planet in training children to become ambassadors for climate justice.
One initiative particularly close to our hearts is the annual charity run in Unterhaching, which we launched in 2009. We are delighted to welcome more participants year after year. The proceeds from the event are shared equally between a tree-planting organization and TSV Unterhaching.
